The first camp runs July 21 to 25 from 7 pjn.

to 8:30 p.m. at Sardis Senior Secondary School outdoor tennis courts. The camp will consist of skills, drills and games, and is open to youth from 8- to 15-years-old. There will be daily treats and a free can of tennis balls included in the $50 cost. A fun tennis tournament will be held July 26 from 9 a.m.

to noon. The second camp runs Aug. 18 to 22 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Sardis Secondary, and will include a fun tournament Aug.

GearForeGolf Men's, Ladies Junior Coif Headquarters Former aces go head-to-head It was a match-up of former Chilliwack Turbo Fastball Club fireballers when Abbotsford Fast as Right's Harv Wiens faced Jeff Derksen of the Cottonwood Mall Slammers in Abbotsford Men's Fastball League action last week at Townsend Park.

As expected, a pitchers duel ensued, as each team was held to a single run in a 1-1 tie. Fast as Flight scored its run in the fifth. Cottonwood Mall replied in the top of the seventh after a bunt single by Todd Morrison broke up Wiens' bid for a no-hitter. Morrison advanced to third on two wild pitches, then eventually scored on Wein's wild throw to first base. Derksen went the distance for the Slammers, allowing four hits and striking out 10 batters.

Weins gave up one hit and struck out 16. Chilliwack got back on the winning track later in the week with an 8-3 rout of Sumas New Life. Derksen again picked up the victory, with Cam Janzen blasting a two-run homer. Jolly Miller wraps up season The Jolly Miller Slo-Pitch League held its year-end tournament last weekend at Townsend Park. SPORTS BRIEFS In the regular season, JD's EXC Pitbulls, Joiiy Miller, and Chronics Characters finished one-two-three.

In the playoffs, Chronics took top spot in the A Division after beating Pitbulls in the final. Cibby's Terminators won the Division over McClary Crew, and The Niners took the Division over BMW's. The Excellerators was named Most Sportsmanlike Team ahead of Cibby's and Chilliwack Electric. Brian Rumsey of Chilliwack Engine was named Most Sportsmanlike Player and won the Adriana Sztuhar Award. Hoops camp ready The Chilliwack Hoops Camp for Girls begins Saturday, Aug.
