was the scene of a lovely 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration for Elda English (nee Brough) and Bill English. The attractive couple were united in marriage Oct. 29th, 1949 at the Presbyterian Church in Picton, Ont. by Rev. Peter Held.

Their attendants were Mildred Blackhurst (deceased) and Gordon Sweet. Friends and family attended from Chilliwack, Abbotsford, Vancouver and as tar away as Brandon, Manitoba; Calgary, Alberta and Picton, Ontario with a totalof 60 In attendance. The hall was decorated beautifully for the happy occasion, and the guests of honour made an attractive looking couple. Among the guests were the couples son Barry English and daughter-in-law Lois, Yarrow, B.C.; Bob English i Vicky English, (son and daughter-in-law) 100 Mile House; Bob Becky Carson (daughter and son-in-law) Picton, Ont. Also in attendance were El-da's sister Anne Campbell (Picton); grandsons Jason and Tyler English; granddaugn-ter Leigh Anne Carson (Picton) and Rick Judy Bell (nephew wife) Brandon, Manitoba.

The evening began with a delicious meal prepared and served by members of the Chilliwack community. Soft music was played during the meal and a few people added humorous anecdotes about the life and times of the English's. Then the honoured couple danced the anniversary waltz.
