THE CHILLIWACK PROGRESS, Friday, May 25, 2007 Obituaries in the lives of Vic Boychuk, the love of her life for 29 years, her beloved children, Jennifer Neal and Cher Sawchuk; her sisters and brothers; dearest mother-in-law, Mabel Boychuk and cherished nieces and nephews. Marta was also blessed with many dear relatives and friendships throughout her life. Marta delighted in many simple things: reading, sewing, crafts, gardening, photography, entertaining, traveling, dancing, and stimulating conversations. She was a natural born teacher. The family wishes to thank the dear friends, neighbours, and relatives who gave so generously of their time to take care of Marta.

Sincere thanks to a special person, Peter Martin. A special thanks to the ladies prayer group that Marta met with each Wednesday morning. She felt so blessed in your company. IF 604-792-1344 HENDERSON'S GAINES Elda Beatrice BOYCHUK Marta Angeline (nee Bustin) Dec. 7, 1950 May 21, 2007 Marta Angeline Boychuk passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Marta lives on BOYCHUK Elda passed away on May 22, 2007 at the Chilliwack General Hospital, age 93. Elda is survived by her children; Karen Finney, Bob (Diane), both of Chwk; five grandchildren; April (Bill), Ladonna, Lorne (Michelle), Michael (Julianne), Leslie (Bob), and 14 greatgrandchildren. Pre-deceased by her parents, and nine brothers and sisters. Born and raised in Chilliwack, she resided here her entire life. She took great delight in wider grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

She used to knit for them when they were little. Elda enjoyed her home and was very family orientated. The family would like to thank the staff at Valley Haven for their care to our mother. In lieu of flowers, if family and friends so desire, donations may be made to the Chilliwack Society for Community Living. No service by request.

1 604-792-1344 HENDERSON'S GARDNER Harvey Harvey Gardner, late of Chilliwack, BC, passed away May 21, 2007 in Chilliwack, BC, age 78. Harvey was born GARDNER New Westminster, on April 13th 1929. He had lived in this area all his life. Harvey started out in construction and because of -the outdoors, made logging his occupation over 50 years until his DIRECTORY retirement. A public viewing will be held from pm on Saturday, May 26thatHenderson's Funeral Home.

An informal Tea to be held following the viewing at 4:00 pm at 45471 Spadina Avenue, West. Harvey is survived by his loving wife, Carol of 40 children: Raymond of Vernon; Harvey (Renee) of Chilliwack, and Johanne of Chilliwack; six Jasmine, Bae, Hannah, Dorian, and Cheyenne. Also his sisters: Rosemary MacDonald and Kay Rancier of Chilliwack, and numerous nieces and nephews. Harvey was predeceased by his mother, Barbara Evelyn Gardner and father, Robert Ceig Gardner, and one brother, Robert William Henery. HENDERSON'S 604-792-1344 PORTER Ralph Allen 604-793-9903 MacARTHUR Clifford Stanley (March 10, 1917 May 17,2007) It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Clifford "Mac" Stanley MacArthur on Thursday, May 17, 2007.

Surrounded by MacARTHUR his family and in the arms of his loving wife of 65 years, Mac made his final journey home. Mac retired as Superintendent of the RCMP in 1974, having served in Whitemouth, Portage La Prarie, Bissett, Teulon, Flin Flon, Dauphin, Ottawa, Prince Rupert, Prince George, and finally in Chilliwack. We would like to celebrate his life as we remember Mac to his children and grandchildren) as a family man, a prankster, an avid gardener, an expert carver of turkeys and With heavy hearts, we sadly announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband and father, Ralph Allen Porter on Monday May 21,2007. Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Bernice; his sons Kevin and Paul (Ruth) and daughter Maureen (Brad), granddaughters Jennifer and Heather, as well as his older sister Norma Westman and his loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. Mary's Catholic Church, 8909 Mary Chilliwack, B.C. on Friday May 25, 2007 at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's on Saturday May 26, 2007 at 10:30 AM with Fr. Justin Huang as celebrant.

He loved warm summer days at Lake Catherine, eating sweet treats, fishing trips and puttering around his expansive and beautiful backyard. He will be lovingly remembered as a warm and gentle soul who loved family and life. He will be greatly missed but will live on in our hearts. Mac was predeceased by his daughter Bonnie in 1990 (Len), and is survived by his beautiful wife Lila, his son Cliff (Ethel), and his grandchildren Karen (Marvin), Rob (Firli), Alison (Paul), Jaimie (Daniel), Tracie (Rod), and Elizabeth, as well as his eight great-grandchildren: Morgan and Jordan, Waffa and Siffa, Andrew and Heather, Melodie and Tanya. A celebration of his life was held for immediate family members at 'Hallmark Assisted Living' in Abbotsford, B.C.

SHEWCHUK Lily Beatrice It is with deep regret that the family of Lily Beatrice Shewchuk shares the news of her passing on May 15, 2007 at Chilliwack General Hospital. Lily is lovingly remembered by her daughter Patricia Reimer; granddaughters Sheri Heal and Debra Cross; great-granddaughters Adrian Cross and Alana Cross; relatives and friends. The youngest of six children, Lily was born August 13, 1920 in Vancouver.

The tall beautiful young woman soon caught the eye of the handsome and newlyenlisted Nick Shewchuk. After their wedding in 1941 the couple were stationed in Ontario, then Victoria before settling in Vancouver where their daughter Patricia was born and raised. Weekends were often spent on the water at Pender Harbour, or gold panning up the Fraser Canyon. Lil enjoyed their time with dear friends and family at Birch Bay, then Black Mountain Ranch. After Nick's retirement they moved to Whiterock and when the cool weather came each year they headed south to Palm Springs in their motorhome.

In the early 80's they made their way out to Chilliwack to be closer to their daughter and her family. Nick and Lil lived at Ascot Estates until after his death in 2000, when Lil moved to The Waverly. "Nana" was a devoted wife and mother, and doting grandmother and personified the term She saw more then her fair share of band concerts, and never missed a school play or dance recital. She was often seen out watching Sheri compete at horse events, visiting Debra at the mall, and having coffee with the Ladies of Ascot Estates. No service as per her request.
