Tryntje Romeyn; nieces and nephews in Canada and cousins in Holland: Gerrit and Joka Romeyn, John and Leny Viets (Romeyn), Arie and Agnes Van Wingerden (Romeyn), Dave and Rita" Hampson (Romeyn), Ron and Nelly Kaye (Romeyn), Dwight arid Marian Moore (Romeyn), Pete and Wendy Romeyn, John and Theresa Romeyn, Tjakko and Louise Cazander (Romeyn), and their families. She was predeceased by her mother, Leentje Van Gogh (Vis-ser) in 1940; her father, Pieter Van Gogh in 1969; her brother -inlaw, Rev. Martin Romeyn in 1971; her sister-in-law, Lynie Van Gogh in 1979; and her brother, Maarten Van Gogh in 1988. No flowers please, donations may be made to Timothy Christian School. THIESSEN, John John Thiessen passed away suddenly in Chilliwack on October 6, 1997 at the age of 83.

He is survived by his loving wife Irma; sister Annie (Hamm) of Chilliwack; brothers Rudy (Kay) of Abbotsford, and Nick (Irene) of Burnaby. He was predeceased by his brother Jake (Susie) on February 16, 1997; and by his brother-in-law Herman Hamm (Annie). John was born in 1914 in the Ukraine where he spent his childhood. With the outbreak of the war and later anarchy, the family lost their possessions and their lives were threatened. Consequently they emigrated to Canada in 1924, settling at Marquette, Man.

on a grain farm. In 1943 they left the harsh winters of Manitoba and moved to Chilliwack. John worked on the farm on Chilliwack Central Rd. until 1960 when he and his widowed mother moved to a smaller property near Upper Prairie Rd. In 1971 John fell in love and married Irma Tomsen Halle.

They enjoyed semi-retirement in this rural setting until they were unable to maintain their small acreage necessitating a move to their present home in Chilliwack. John and Irma loved to socialize, travel, do volunteer work, and participate in church activities. They loved to visit the elderly in longterm care facilities. Woodlawn CHADSEY Muriel Margaret Muriel Margaret Chadsey, late ol Chilliwack, passed away October 3, 1997 at the age of 86. Born in Banff, on October 21, 1910 she came to Chilliwack in the mid 20s with her family.

She was the daughter of Roy and Winnifred Cunningham. Roy was the Chilliwack CNR station agent for many years. On November 19, 1929 Muriel married Clifford F. Chadsey, son of pioneers George and Alma (nee Kipp) Chadsey. Muriel and Clifford worked on the family dairy farm on Chilliwack Central which is still an active dairy farm being operated by the fifth Chadsey generation.

Muriel loved her family, enjoyed being a farmer's wife, took great interest in gardening, reading, knitting, and carpet bowling. Service of Remembrance was held Thursday, Oct. 9, 1997 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Henderson's Funeral Home. Rev.

She will be dearly missed by son Neil (Tess) Chadsey of Chilliwack; daughter Joan (Les) Hay of Abbotsford; four grandchildren, Allan Hay, Gail Kelnor, Doug Chadsey, and Brenda Chadsey; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jack, Jim, Art, and Fred Cunningham; one sister Marie Rannie; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was predeceased by her husband Clifford F.

Chadsey in 1989; two brothers, Bill and Bert Cunningham; and one sister Donna Hughes. If friends so desire, donations may be made to charity of choice. Born in Mariawhol, Russia on October 25, 1902, he moved to Colonsay, Sask.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Mary of 64 years; children, Lena (Ted) Hooton, Vera (Hal) Taylor, Irma (Al) Timms, Lillian (Mae) McRae, Donald, and John (Ellen); 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members. from the chapel at Chilliwack United Church. Henderson's Funeral Home, Chilliwack, in care of arrangements. MUXLOW Kathleen 'Kay' Marie Kathleen 'Kay' Marie Muxlow passed away suddenly at her home Thursday, Oct. 9, 1997. She was born November 29, 1924 in Bengough, Sask.

She married and lived in Glad- MUXLOW mar, Sask. until 1958. She had lived in this area for 40 years. Kay was active in square dancing, line dancing, and old time dancing. Music was a love that she shared with her family and friends.

Not only was Kay a fan of her children and grandchildren's sports activities, but also participated in softball (she was still on a team at 70 years), curling, shuffle-board, and golfing. A descendent of the United Empire Loyalists, she was proud of her heritage shown through her scrapbooks and family photo albums. She will always be remembered for being a team player. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1997 at 1 p.m.
