Obituaries Archibald Scott Archibald Scott Campbell passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002 at Chilliwack General Hospital, at age 83 years. He was born August 3, 1918 in Dyce, Scotland. Archie is survived by his wife Ellen; and two daughters, Lesley and Kathleen. A Memorial Tea will be held on Saturday, Feb.

Ted was born January 2, 1929 in West Bend, Sask. He was the first of eight children who would be born to Thomas and Violet Hoover. After several jobs in fishing, mining, logging and farming Ted started a 36-year career as a grain elevator manager in Alberta. In 1987 he and his wife Muriel moved to Rosedale to start a raspberry farm. In 1993 they retired to Agassiz.

Ted and Muriel filled their time with visits to children and family in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, and the Yukon. As well, they travelled widely to Europe, Britain, New Zealand and across Canada and the U.S. Ted's interests at home included fishing, meeting friends at A floor curling, volunteering at the Agassiz Community Services Thrift Shop, and serving the Rosedale United Church. Lately his lifelong interest in music had been shared with friends and family when he learned to play an electric organ. Ted will be greatly missed by his loving wife Muriel; his children, Ken (Sharon) of Edmonton, Brian (Loretta) of Haines Junction, Janet (Donald Wiltshire) of Sherwood Park, and Karen (Morton Allingham) of Comox; and his grandchildren, Caitlin, Ben, and Sarah.

He will also be remembered with love by brothers, sisters, many relatives and friends throughout western Canada. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002 at Rosedale United Church. Honourary pallbearers are Bob Beatty, Don Rutley, Gerrit van Laar, Wendall Buckingham, Bob Parker, Fred Philips, and Art Clemas. Instead of flowers, donations can be gratefully forwarded to the Canadian Cancer Society, or Rosedale United Church.

on August 17, 1905. A dedicated nurse, she trained at the Winnipeg General Hospital graduating with the Class of '28. From 1939 to 1946, Major Allen served with the Canadian Army in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Continental Europe, receiving several medals for her service. In 1966 she retired from the Department of Health and Welfare, Medical Services, after spending many years nursing throughout Manitoba and Northern Ontario. Her retirement brought her to Victoria and then to Chilliwack.

Anna was predeceased by her husband, Stanley in 1953; her parents, William Wallace and Margaret Stella (Long) Allen; her brother W.A. (Slim) Allen; her sister Grace I. Cockrem; and nephew R. Allen Cockrem. She is survived by her sisterin-law May M.

Allen; her niece M.A. Mary Baxter (Richard) and grand-niece Erin; her niece Joyce Cockrem and her grand-niece Margaret O'Conner and grandnephews, Richard, Robert, John and Thomas Cockrem, and their families. She is also survived by many cousins and friends across Canada. There will be no service at her request. If so desired, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of choice.
