She was also on the regional 200m medlay relay team which won the bronze medal in the event. Club coach Chris Whetter earned a sixth in the 50m freestyle and a seventh in the 100m freestyle. This was Whetter's last event as a member of the Stingrays swim club. She has been a coach with the club for the past four seasons, and a swimmer in the summer club for 13 years.

"I was really very happy with the results," Whetter said of her Stingrays that competed at the provincial meet. Association directors attribute the increase to interest generated by the World Cup being held this year and the work the group has done over the last few years to develop a strong organizational plan.

While registration levels were poor in the older age groups (some divisions may be cancelled), mini-ball for younger players is becoming more popular. Boys and girls six to eight years old play mini-ball on half-sized fields. A total of 32 teams are registered in three age divisions of the miniature version of soccer. Eight teams are registered in the two girls divisions and 21 teams are listed for the four boys divisions. ON THE FREEWAY NEAR CHILLIWACK 44430 Yale Rd.
