(from Page A4) students, chastising entire classes for the antics of one or two, approaching all students with mistrust because some are not trustworthy, taking out their bad moods on the class or particular students. When enough of this goes on even students who didn't already have an attitude problem can develop one and before long may learn to deal with these extra pressures on their already contusing and sometimes troubled lives in ways detrimental to themselves and the rest of us. And then they become ditch-diggers, politicians, parents, doctors, teachers.

And on it goes. A happy ending? The B.C. School Trustees want us to drive carefully and so do I. But I wish they would go a step further and ask teachers to please drive their students carefully, for the safety of us all and a happier ending. G.

Moell, Sardis Goncern about GATT Editor, The Progress: On Monday Aug. 20 over 700 people attended a General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade update in Parliament in standing by this commitment. Ross Belsher, M.P., Fraser Valley East Perverts taking over Editor, The Progress: Recently we have seen on TV Premier Vander Zalm and his wife being attacked by a homosexual group called Act Up. This deviant mob was spitting and shoving and the premier's wife was assaulted. This is the same deviant group whose American Chapter of Act Up desecrated St.

Patrick's Cathedral in New York Dec. 10, 1989, while a church service was ongoing. They screamed obscenities and stamped on the communion wafer and threw condoms around. One wonders where we are headed in our society today, when perverts and deviates are allowed free reign, while decent normal people are assaulted. Maybe we shouldn't be too surprised at what is going on.

After all our main line media gave a big boost and welcome to the homosexual games and some of our politicians were honorary directors. Is it any wonder the perverts and deviates are taking over? Stephen J. Gray, Chilliwack eligible products for import quota, coverage in terms of those made, wholly or mainly, from fresh product under domestic supply control; 3) clarifying the application of import quotas, including the levels of access of foreign products to the domestic market; and, 4) placing limitations on exports of supply managed products when import quotas are in effect. This will ensure the preservation of supply management in Canada by establishing a fair and level playing field upon which the agrifood industry can compete. Following the seminar I communicated to the Honorable Don Mazankowski, minister of Agriculture and the Honorable John Crosbie, minister of International Trade, the concerns of the people of the Fraser Valley.

Both ministers have previously made assurances that Canada's position will not waver. In fact, they have directed our negotiators to take the hard line as this round of negotiations approaches its conclusion in December. The ministers are well aware of the strong Valley support for Canada's bargaining position. It is clear that clarification and strengthening of Article XI is a priority of the government and of agricultural producers in the Valley. The commitment has been made and I join with my colleagues YOUR INQUIRY IS INVITED PHONE 795-9714 seminar in Abbotsford.

This seminar was sponsored by several regional and national marketing boards. The large local turnout illustrates the importance of supply management to local agriculture producers and processors in the Fraser Valley. These people voiced their concern about Canada's position on Article XI of the GATT. They are worried that supply management might be jeopardized. As a result of this meeting I received over 180 letters expressing concern and seeking assurances that supply management would not be bargained away.

In the most basic terms, agriculture provides us with the food we need to live; beyond this, the agriculture industry provides jobs: For farmers, equipment manufacturers and salespeople, processors, wholesalers and retailers. This is an industry that contributes significantly to our community and way of life here in the Fraser Valley. I would like to assure those 700 people who attended the seminar that I am in full support of the government's position on Article XI of the GATT. That position is clear and firm we are seeking a strengthening of Article XI by: 1) strictly defining what constitutes effective government supply control measures; 2) determining dent, may be connected.
