cu. in THE CHILLIWACK PROGRESS, Wednesday, January 18, 1984 OBITUARIES (Continued from Page 11) ISABELLA SOUTER Isabella Souter of 44900 South Sumas Rd. died Jan. 10 at Chilliwack General Hospital. Funeral services were held Jan.

14 in the chapel of Henderson's Funeral Homes. Rev. J. T. Horricks officiated.

Burial was at Carman Cemetery. Pallbearers were Alic Adams, Bill Kingdom, Clarence Sagert, Alf Smith, George Temple and Reg Unsworth. Henry "Scotty" Gibson played Amazing Grace on the pipes at graveside. She was born March 31, 1902 in Miltonduff, Morayshire, in Scotland. In 1927 she and her husband and three small children emigrated to Canada, settling in Alberta.

In 1943 the family moved to the Atchelitz area, living on Unsworth Road, and 11 years later moved to a small farm on South Sumas Road. A housewife, she was an active worker in the local Social Credit party, and served several terms as president of the Social Credit Women's Auxiliary in Chilliwack. She was a member of the Atchelitz Women's Institute and a Red Cross Worker. She was a strong supporter of the 4-H club with her children and grandchildren active in the group. She was an exhibitor for many years at the Chilliwack Exhibition.

She is survived by three sons, Alex in Sardis, Gordon and his wife Barbara in Fort Langley, and Don and his wife Allie in Smithers; two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Ethel) Mackie of Salmon Arm and Mrs. Ray (Isabel) Miller of Chilliwack: 22 grandchildren and 18 greatgrandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Alexander in 1969, her son Albert in 1946 and by her daughter Helen in 1944. She was also predeceased by a grandson, Bill Mackie Jr.

in 1973, her brothers David and Bill Fraser in Scotland and her brother James in New Zealand. THOMAS MACKIE Thomas Mackie of 46289 Yale Rd. died Jan. 13 at the West Coast General Hospital in Port Alberni. Requiem mass was celebrated Jan.

17 at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church with Father T. McCarthy as celebrant. Burial was at the Royal Canadian Legion Cemetery, Casket bearers were George Temple, Alex Souter, Ben Braun, Jim Mackie, John Mackie, and Sherwood Kelly, Born June 22, 1924 in Carron, Scotland, he spent 40 years in Chilliwack as a farm laborer. He was member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch Chilliwack, He is survived by his mother, Mrs.

Bridget Mackie of Chilliwack: brothers, Pat Mackie of Chilliwack, Bill Mackie of Salmon Arm, George Mackie of Port Alberni, Dave Mackie of Quesnel: sisters, Mary (Mrs. Bill) McMillan of Sardis, Jean Mackie of Chilliwack, Nellie (Mrs. Harry) Street of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Mackie was predeceased by his father, Bill Mackie in 1982; brother, John Mackie in 1982; and sister, Louise Mackie in 1947.

DOUGLAS MALCOLM McNABB Douglas Malcolm McNabb of 342 University Drive, Thunder Bay, Ontario died Dec. 28 in Thunder Bay. Funeral service conducted by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 113 was held Dec. 30 at the Blake Funeral Chapel in Thunder Bay.

Born Jan. 9, 1919 in Kamloops, Mr. McNabb was a hospital administrator in Thunder Bay. He lived in Chilliwack from 1929 to 1946 except while he served overseas in the armed forces from 1939 to 1945. He was decorated while serving with "D' Company Westminster Reg't overseas.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian of Thunder Bay; daughters, Susan Gaye Brill of Ohio, Claudia Latta of Thunder Bay; sons, Derek and Stuart and Ted of Surrey; sister Mrs. Doreen Nash of Duncan; sisterin-law, Madaleine McNabb of Chilliwack; and nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Stan McNabb of Chilliwack; and brother Jim McNab of Chilliwack in 1979.

ELLA MAXINE KRONYK Ella Maxine Kronyk of 49175 Yale Road East died Jan. 9 at her home. Memorial service was held Jan. 14 in the Yale Road East Kingdom Hall with E. A.

Russell of Abbotsford as officiating minister. Born Jan. 18, 1924 1 in Naisberry, she moved to Nanaimo in 1956 and then to Racho tele notice decision Decision CRTC 84-4. She was one of Jehovah's witnesses who was very active in Bible study and in teaching the Bible to others. Mrs. Kronyk is survived by her husband, Mike Kronyk; sons, Barry of Quadra Island, Robert of Prince George, and Douglas of Williams Lake; daughter, Judy Huntington of Quadra Island; brothers, Arther Keller of Williams Lake, Norman Keller of Nanaimo, Walter Keller of Clearbrook, Lawrence Keller of Melfort, sisters, Gertrude Keller of Aldergrove, Lorna (Mrs. John) Ens of Drayton Valley, and Irene (Mrs. Frank) a shyn of Brooksby, and 10 grandchildren.

MARY GUSHTA Mary Gushta of Laidlaw Road, Hope died January 12 at Chilliwack General Hospital. Requiem mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church with Father F. Price as celebrant. bearers were Flebbe, Wayne Flebbe, Bob Bescott, Jim Bescott, Kevin Jensen, and Jim Shierholz.

Born on December 28, 1894 in Czechoslovakia, she had lived in the Chilliwack district since 1963 and was formerly of Edmonton and Vilna, Alberta. Mrs. Gushta is survived by her son, Mike of Edmonton; daughters, Mrs. Carol Shierholz of Edmonton, Mrs. Helen Dambrau of San Fran- cisco, Mrs.

Anne Flebbe of Popkum, Mrs. Sophie Byrne of Laidlaw, and Mrs. Kay Bescott of Vancouver; 12 grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and sister, Mrs. Theresa Sheput of Bonnyville, Alberta. She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas in 1962 and son, John in 1956.

HELEN SMITH Helen Smith, age 74, of 2580 Emerson Rd. died Jan. 9 at Royal Columbian Hospital. Funeral service was held Jan. 13 at the Seven Oaks Alliance Church with Pastor Bill Goetz and Pastor Alf Orthner officiating.

Burial was at the Musselwhite cemetery.
