Fail Settle Team, Overall, Senior Accuracy Diving Claimed By Chilliwack 116-17 Team, overall and senior accuracy events fell to Chilliwack Sky Divers on the weekend when parachutists descended on Ab-botsford Sport Centre for the Frank Ellis meet. Ellis was on hand for presentation ceremonies. He is the first Canadian parachutist, having jumped from a plane on July 5, 1919. Frank is a Vancouver resident. Bill Hardman topped 31 jumpers in the senior event with 828 points.

Club mates Lea Johnson, Da- and Brent Lee scored dead centres. Adams scored 1,030 points while Johnson totalled 994 out of 1,500 points in senior accuracy drops for super sport canopies. A Brandon, jumper won with 1,183. Adams was second while Johnson was third. Hardman, Johnson, Lee and Adams emerged as the winning team with 2,584 points of a possible 4,000.

Johnson, with 1,942 of a possible 2,500 points, was the overall winner of the Richard Harder memorial. Junior accuracy laurels fell to a Winnipeg diver. Big Question Wrestlers Don Leo Jonathan and John Tolos failed to settle which was the better fighter even when resorting to boxing gloves last nit in the Ag Hall.

Other results: Dutch Savage beat Eric Froelich, Paul Jones stopped Paul Degalle and Gorilla Marconi tied with Red McNulty. Sir Edmund Hillary Invited To Cheam Hike PROGRAMME OF EVENTS TUESDAY WEDNESDAY i THURSDAY AUGUST 17 Saturday, September 3, and this letter is an invitation for you to join us. "Mount Cheam is a walking hike. Equipment such as ropes and crampons is essary. All that is required is stamina. Even the inexperienced can get to the top.

Famed New Zealand climber Sir Edmund Hillary is being invited to Chilliwack. The 1953 conqueror of Mt. Everest has been sent a formal invitation to be guest of honor at Russ Dyer's Mt. Cheam hike next month. Partial text of Dyer's letter follows: "In 1964 I started an annual climb to the top of Mount Cheam in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

That particular year 47 climbers (general public) received summit club badges. Last year 110 people were successful in reaching the top. "This year's hike is set for AUGUST 16 (Children's Day) (Reduced Prices for Children on All Midway Rides) 9:00 a.m. Judging of all exhibits, other than 9:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m.
