Meeting was preceded by members working on a quilt when Henry Tryon Chapter, IODE, met November 8 in Mrs. Verne Scott's home. Chapter agreed to supply a layette to go to the Northwest Territories as requested by provincial chapter. It was reported 250 layettes are to be supplied by all chapters. Mrs.

Phyllis Chambers was assigned to buy rose bushes for a section around Valley-haven Guest Home. Mrs. John Wigham reported she had attended sessions of "What Makes Chilliwack Tick" and gave the recommendations. Arrangements were made for Mrs. A.

Mrs. Souter, who attended the provincial WA convention held from November 4 to November 6 in Vancouver Hotel, stated there were 83 delegates and 59 members present at the convention and that 19 resolutions were presented.

Guest speaker was Mrs. Pat Jordan, minister without portfolio. Mrs. W. A.

C. Bennett, honorary president of the WA, opened the convention. Executive board members Mrs. Gwen Dragvick and Mrs. Irene McCam of the Lower Mainland Regional Centre, New Westminster, have met with local members, Mrs.

Souter reported. Auction Saturday Proceeds from an auction being held Saturday night in Chapman Auction Market, Yale Road West, will go towards the completion of the Masonic Temple being built on Hocking Avenue. Event will start at 7 p.m. Members of the lodges using the temple are looking for new and used goods of all kinds with the exception of used clothing. Percy Chapman will be the auctioneer.

Thomas' parish hall. President Mrs. Garnet Evans welcomed members and guests. Tea and coffee party will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

H. K. Manuel gave an interesting report on the hospital auxiliaries' convention held in Vancouver. Mrs. R.

M. Street and Mrs. A. C. Kerridge were tea hostesses.

Officers elected by acclamation Members of Chilliwack Valley Horticultural Society enjoyed a showing of slides by Mrs. rienry Taylor of the Chilliwack Camera Club when they held their annual meeting November 9 in the Elks Hall. Top point winners in the 1971 parlor shows were Mrs. Lloyd Russell, Mrs. Joe Kuer-vers and Mrs.

Peter Neufeld. E. F. Troendle was in charge of election. Elected by acclamation were president, Mrs.

David Vallance; vice-president, John Pollock; recording secretary, Mrs. Lloyd Russell; corresponding secretary, Mrs. Derek King; treasurer, Mrs. J. W.

Williams. Elected to the executive-at-large were Mrs. S. J. Bate-man, Mrs.

Harold Ratai, Mrs. Peter Neufeld, William Shev-kenek, Jack Van de Veen and Jack Lawrence. Parlor show entries were judged by Mrs. Vallance. Members and guests were reminded that the next meeting will be the annual Christmas party to be held December 14 in the Elks Hall.

Couple wed in Vancouver A small family wedding took place in the afternoon in the Unitarian Church, Vancouver, on November 9 uniting in marriage Susanne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James D. Storie of Vancouver, and Ian Edmund Hilton, son of Mr. and Mrs.

N. F. Hilton of Chilliwack, Rev. Phillip Hewitt officiated. Bride's attendants were Miss Joan Ryan of Calgary and Sandra Ryan who was tlower girl.

Groom was attended by David Amor of Oliver, British Columbia. Toast to the bride was proposed by Captain A. E. Ander at a reception held later in the evening at Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club. Groom is a graduate of University of British Columbia and the bride is a Doctor of Philosophy candidate in anthropology.
