Guides And Brownies Plan Floral Tribute A shipment of 1900 golden tulip bulbs has arrived in Chilliwack from Holland, part of a huge order of 750,000 to be planted by Girl Guide companies coast the golden Brownie, packs from coastlee of Guiding in Canada in 1960.

The Chilliwack tulips, ordered by all of the companies and packs in the Chilliwack area, will be planted on the grounds of their meeting places as a "thank you" to all those organizations which have co-operated with the Guide movement since its formation here. The bulbs are all Golden Harvest tulips and probably will be planted in the shape of the Guide crest. They will bear a small notice stating that they are the gift of the Guides and Brownies. to mark their golden jubilee. Tulips will be planted by the girls themselves under the direction of their guiders or a qualified gardener.

The huge shipment, one of the largest tulip orders ever to be placed in Canada, was shipped from Holland to the ports of Montreal and Vancouver, and the bulbs have been distributed from these points to communities in every province. Next spring the Girl Guide "River of Gold" will start to bloom on Vancouver Island and will gradually flow across Canada to the coast of Newfoundland. Even the Yukon will make a special tributary to the river, with Guide -companies and Brownie packs there planting special forcing bulbs in pots for gifts to churches and hospitals, replacing outdoor beds, which are impractical there. The next bingo lunch and the next meeting lunch will be convened by Mrs. J. Taylor. Mrs. J.

Mr. Tony Kostiuk officiated at the services held today from Henderson's Funeral Chapel.

Interment was in the IO0F cemetery. Pallbearers were Stan Padgham, C. Peterson, J. Hnatiw, J. Long, S.

Johnson and L. A. Durand. Mr. Haskell born in Indiana, U.S.A., 1888 and was a retired logger.

He had resided at 16 Maxwell street for 16 years and two years in Rosedale. His wife, Rose, survives him at the family residence 735 Munro street, Rosedale. He is also survived by one son, Frank, Prince George; one grandchild and one sister, Mrs. Cleatis Getz, Red Deer, Alta. Mrs.

Bertha McFetridge Mrs. Bertha McFetridge, a long time resident of the district, passed away October 1 at Valleyhaven in her 80th Funeral services held turday from Henderson's Funeral Chapel with interment in the IOOF cemetery. Rev. R. M.

Goodall, assisted by Rev. R. A. Redman, officiated at the services. Pallbearers were Ralph Watson, Gordon Reid, Don Archibald, Don McFetridge, Arthur Leighton and Garry Reid.

Mrs. McFetridge, who was born in Nova Scotia, was a life member of Chilliwack United WMS. She formerly resided at 320 Margaret avenue and had lived with her daughter, Mrs. William Leighton, Courtenay, for a short while. Mrs.

McFetridge was predeceased by her husband, George Hannah, in 1943. She "is" survived by three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Grace) Sanderson, Edmonton; Mrs. Harry (Edith) Gladwin, Middle Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia; Mrs. William (Alice).

Courtenay; two sons, Norman Sardis, and Ronald Courtenay: eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. J. B. Archibald, Middle Musquodoboit, N.S.: Mrs. G.
