WATER SKIERS THRILL Thrills were provided by the water skiing display staged by Pete Godfrey, his ten-year-old son John, both of Vancouver, and Bob and Brad Sarvis of Bellingham, Washington. It was one of the highlights of the afternoon show as the skiers raced at terrific speed behind two motor launches brought here by the groups. There were thrills of a different sort as Canada's 1936 Olympic diving entry Lynda Adams, displayed the diving form that made her Canada's leading woman high board artist for ten years. Two attractive prints now hanging in the of M's Chilliwack office are "Isles of Spruce," by Arthur Lismer, R.C.A., and "Mist Fantasy," by the late J. E.

H. Mac-Donald, R.C.A. "Isles of Spruce" depicts, in beautiful colors, a typically Canadian autumn scene. "Mist Fantasy" is an interpretive, poetical work, full of movement and repeated rhythm. Both were designed by members of the original "Group of Seven" Canadian artists, who did much to foster a distinctly Canadian style of painting.

In the silk screen process, by which these pictures were made, a series of silk stencils is used. Through these, color patterns in oil paint are impressed directly upon paper. The resulting print has a freshness and brightness difficult to obtain by other methods, and ideal for business offices. SUSPECT ARSON IN PARK FIRE Chilliwack volunteer fire brigade Thursday answered the third fire report at the Fair Grounds within a week. Reports of several young boys seen tampering with the stands lead police to believe fire may mean a resurgence of juvenile arson in the city.

The small blaze, which caused minor damage, was extinguished within a few minutes. Police have been requested to look into the incident and if necessary establish a patrol around the grounds. GELDART DIVE CHAMP Thirty swimming and diving events attracted over 100 boys and girls, men and women, in the daylong show. Bob Geldart's victory in the men's and boys' class came chiefly as a result of an excellent display of diving. Two of his four firsts and one of the two seconds he scored came in diving classes.

He rolled up 26 points, based on five for a first and three for a second, to top his nearest rival, Matty Phillips, also of Chilliwack, two points. The margin was a close one. Matty almost matched Bob's diving victories with an impressive record of swim wins. With three firsts and two seconds to his credit, Matty was edged out in an exciting half-mile free style contest with Danny Leavens. One of the best matches of the day.

Leavens won by no more than six inches after the 15-year-old Phillips had headed the veteran Cultus star throughout most of the nine-lap course. Trophies were presented to the regatta champs at an evening pavilion dance" by Jack Watson, president of the Chilliwack Junior Chamber of Commerce.
