Chilliwack merchants plan for May carnival Bank Financing! KjUWJjE Credit! Remember: "Pleasing You Pleases Us" A "flea market," window displays and midway rides will highlight the 1975 Chilliwack Retail Merchants' Association Country Living carnival.

The carnival will be held May 17 and, according to Jean Hepburn, will be "even bigger and better than last year." At a retail merchants' association meeting Tuesday it was decided to hold a "flea market" in conjunction with the regular sidewalk sales. It is hoped to have people selling arts-and crafts and possibly even home baking. Window displays will be replacing the window painting contest held last year. Ethnic groups and individuals will be arranging the displays based on the theme of Country Living '75 "people of the valley." The midway will be a special attraction with a few new rides added to last year's list. On Mill Street the chicken barbecue will again be offered.

It is hoped to continue the beer garden on Mill Street as well and details are now being worked out. nvTft rui CARS: 1972 Mercury Marquis, Loaded, ITU including BUM" TRUCKS: 1974 GMC Spriiyrffty V-8 P.S., P.B. Radio, Vinyl itp. 1974 Ford Courier, Near New, Warranty. 1974 Ford El 00, Sundial.

classes without interfering with the school program. "We want the community to see the school's programs, and even its problems. It won't be a normal day unless there are a few small problems," he said. He stressed classes will run as normal. The whole idea is for the adults to see the school as it is on a regular day.

Mr. Duyvewaardt said the idea for the Community Day came up while reviewing the minutes of an open school board meeting held two years ago. During that meeting several people said they would like to see a school in its regular routine. He noted the Community Day is not just for parents. "We want the total Vedder Junior Secondary School is planning a Community Day March 5 to let the public see the school, the students and the staff "as they really are." Counsellor Bill Duyvewaardt said the event was suggested by the school's communications committee to increase communication between the school and the public.

All interested adults are invited to drop into the school between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. to see the classes in their day-to-day operation. "There will be no show," he said. "It will be strictly low key to show exactly what happens on an average school day." Mr.

Duyvewaardt said it will be an "open-door day," where adults can drop in on any of the CARS: 1975 Jaguar XJ6L, The Utmost In Luxury. 1975 Honda Civic 2 Dr. Sedan. Only 3,000 Mi. 1974 Jaguar Type, New, V-12, The Last One In Canada.

I0IIME8TY SWUBUP LIT7 Phone bills can still be paid here People who saw a Vancouver payment address on their last telephone bills may rest assured that they may still make their payments in person or by mail at B.C. Telephone's Chilliwack business office. Dave Greenwood, manager of the Chilliwack and Abbotsford offices, stressed that payments can still be made in the 66B Yale Road East downtown office. He explained that some centralization of the accounting program has led to the Vancouver billing address being placed on bills.

The centralization has not led to any layoffs of Chilliwack office personnel, he added, indicating he did not expect any such staff reduction. a.Ni) he ANDY SKAARUP MURRAY DOUGHERTY "YOUR LOCAL SPORTS CAR CENTRE" Austin Marina BRITISH LGYLAMD LEVLANO MG Midget M.G.B.
