THE CHILLIWACK PROGRESS. Apr. 16, 1969 11 Obituaries DR. ARTHUR KENT GRIFFIN Dr. Arthur Kent Griffin, resident of Chilliwack for the past 10 years, and former head of the classics department at Dalhousie University, died April 8 at Chilliwack General Hospital in his 72nd year.

Rev. Maxwell Cooper officiated at the funeral, held in St. Thomas' Anglican Church Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Henderson's Funeral Home was in charge and burial was in the Anglican cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Ivan Hurndall and Robert Ramsay.

Adam Koczapski, Alfred Dozlowski, Frank Bertram, Jody Stephens, Arthur Griffin, and Angus Griffin were pallbearers. Dr. Griffin was born in Kincardin, Ontario. He won a Rhodes scholarship from Trinity College, Toronto in 1915, then served in the British expeditionary force to Russia in World War 1. He took his scholarship studies in 1919-21 at Oxford.

He was in Poland until 1923, serving with the American YMCA, and was made an honorary captain in the Polish army. 40 year resident of the Chilliwack area, Kenneth Bott died in Chilliwack General Hospital April 9 at the age of 64. Funeral took place in the chapel of Henderson's Funeral Home Saturday at 1:30 p.m., with Brigadier Arthur Cartmell officiating. Service was followed by cremation. Mr. Bott was born in Berlin, Germany.

He was a dairy farmer. He is survived by his wife Lois at 9447 Chapman Road, Rosedale, one daughter, Mrs. Dan (Marjorie) Griffin of North Surrey; one son, Alan of Rosedale; five sisters, Mrs. Victoria Andersen of Copenhagen Valley, Denmark, Mrs. Ingre Zeller of Berlin, Germany, Mrs.

Walter (Ursula) Monch of Tubingen, Germany, Mrs. Dennis (Karen) Mundy of Sussex, England, Mrs. Karl (Rigmor) Zipper of Berlin, Germany; and two grandchildren. MRS. FLORENCE BLANCHE ORGAN Mrs.

Florence Blanche Organ, late of 116 Bonny Avenue, Chilliwack, died in Chilliwack General Hospital April 13 in her 80th year. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of Henderson's Funeral Home Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., with Harold Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in 100F cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric Oison, William Gamble, Stanley Fowler, John Laird, Adolph Scheller and John Jorgenson. Mrs.

Organ was born in Rapid City, South Dakota. She was formerly a resident of Trail and had lived in the Chilliwack area for the past 13 years. She is survived by her husband, George, one daughter, Mrs. Ardath Johnson of Eugene, Oregon, and one son Harold Webley of Gold Beach, Oregon; two sisters, Miss Mabel Rice of Eugene, Oregon and Mrs. Clarence (Katie) Frost of Grant's Pass, Oregon; eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

STANLEY ALEXANDER JOE A Sardis logger, Stanley Al- exander Joe, 46688 Bailey Road died as a result of an automobile accident April 13 on Promontory Road. Funeral mass for Mr. Joe has been scheduled for Friday at 10 in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, with Very Rev. James E.

Fagan officiatBurial will follow in Tzeachten cemetery. Mr. Joe, who was 47 years old was born in Chilliwack. He is survived by his wife, two sons, William and Allen of Sardis; nine daughters, Mrs. K.

(Darlene) Kramshoj in Germany, Mrs. M. (Doris) James of Chilliwack, Arlene, Colleen, Noreen, Gloria, Patricia, Valerie and Dale, all at home; nine grandchildren, six sisters and one brother. OTTO LEONARD FISHER Former resident of Green Acres Rest Home, Otto Leonard Fisher died April 13 in his 88th year. Rev.

E. L. Wilkin will officiate at the funeral service Thursday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Henderson's Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the 100F cemetery.

Mr. Fisher was born in Owen Sound, Ontario, and lived in the Chilliwack area for the past 32 years. He was a retired grain farmer. Survivors of Mr. Fisher include one son, Leonard of Ocean Falls: three brothers, Wilbert of Salmon Arm, Tolbert of Eldersley, Saskatchewan and Hillis of -Vancouver; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife Edith in 1963. BABY WILLIAMS Born in Royal Columbian Hospital, New Westminster, on March 21, Donald Edward Williams died March 24 in the hospital. The baby was the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth E.

(Bud) Williams, Suite 120 904 Clarke Road, Port Moody and formerly of Chilliwack. Mrs. Williams is the former Dawn Hall of Harrison. High Priest Gary Gibson, assisted by Evangelist Frank Wood, officiated at the graveside service March 27 in Fraser View cemetery. A memorial service will be held in Latter Day Saints Church when the infant's mother is able to attend.

Besides his parents the baby is survived by his sister Rhonda; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. (Ted) Williams, Chilliwack; and maternal grandmother, Mrs.

Iris Hall, Harrison. ERNEST WILFRED BROMLEY Rev. R. W. Bray officiated at the 3 p.m.

Friday funeral of Ernest Wilfred Bromley, late of 24 Reece Avenue East, Chilliwack. Mr. Bromley died in Coquitiam on April 8. Service was held in the chapel of Henderson's Funeral Home, followed by cremation. Pallbearers were Ernest Nelles, William McFaul, Sig Huth.

H. B. Shipley and Bruce Croucher. Mr. Bromley was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, and lived in Fairview, Alberta before moving to Chilliwack 18 years ago.

His occupation was a stockbroker, and he was a member of Alberta Wheat Pool, Mount Zion Masonic Lodge of Chilliwack, Order of the Eastern Star, on the boards of stewards in Chilliwack United Church, and a life member of Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife Maude, two daughter, Mrs. W. M. (Helen) Fowler, Edmonton, and Mrs.

L. (Jean) Lyman, Fairview, Alberta; two sons, Albert, Penhold, Alberta and James, Pensacola, Florida; one brother James, Vancouver; several grandchildren and one greatgranddaughter. ROBERT CHARLES RIDNELL A graveside service will be held in the Chilliwack Legion cemetery for Robert Charles Ridnell, 9891 Quarry Sardis, who died April 13 at Chilliwack General Hospital in his 79th year. Padre Maxwell Cooper will officiate at the service which has been set for Saturday at 2 p.m. Arrangements have been made through the Memorial Society of British Columbia and First Memorial Services Ltd.

Mr. Ridnell was a veteran of World War 1, and a member of Branch 4, Royal Canadian Legion. He is survived by his loving wife Helen Mary, three daughters, Mrs. Jack (Doris) Jacob, Mrs. Frank (Nellie) Langford, and Mrs.
