Buchanan, 214 Princess Avenue West, died March 28 in Chilliwack General Hospital and cremation followed. By her request there was no service and no flowers, but donations to the cancer fund would be appreciated. She was born in Islington, England, December 6, 1901 and has lived in the district for 36 years. Brunswick, passed away suddenly on March 27 in Kendall, Washington and remains were forwarded to St. John for funeral service and interment.

Henderson's Funeral Home were in charge of arrangements. Born in St. John, New Brunswick, December 27, 1950. Private Arsenault has been in the district for two months as a field engineer in the Canadian Armed Forces, Canadian Forces Base, Vedder Crossing. He is survived by his family in St.

John, New Surviving are her husband John Buchanan; three sons, Gordon Newitt. Chilliwack; Norman Bennett, Victoria; and Marshall Atkinson, Kiti-mat; one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Catherine) Gleig of Haney, 11 grandchildren; three brothers, James and Ken Quin-ney of Port Alberni, and Ger rard Qlinney of Islington, Ontario; and one sister, Mrs. James (Theresa) Randall, Powell River. JOSEPH ARSENAULT Private Joseph Gordon Leonard Arsenault, 540 Prospect Street, St.

John, New Ray Aitken, Alvin Aitken, Vic Clarke and Harold Foster. DAVID LaMARSH A well known resident of the district for 65 years, David LaMarsh of 7341 Upper Prairie Road, Chilliwack died at Centre Creek in the Chilliwack Lake area on March 26. Funeral was held today at Henderson's Funeral Home with Rev. D. C.

Johnstone conducting the service. Interment was in IOOF cemetery. Mr. LaMarsh was born in Penhold, Alberta, April 7. 1898 and lived in the Rose-dale area from the age of 10.

He attended school there and married Doreen Miller in 1928. He worked as a shovel operator in logging camps at Harrison Lake and Powell River and for the past 12 years worked for Bowman's Mill. He lived at the above address for 42 years. He is survived by his wife Doreen, four sons, Milton, Marvin and Clifford all of Chilliwack, and Joseph of 3 FRANK LING Funeral service was held on Saturday in Henderson's Funeral Home for Frank Ling, 44500 Watson Road, Sardis. who died March 24 in Chilli-wack General Hospital.

Rev. W. R. B. Nixon conducted the service and interment was in Carman cemetery.

Born in New Zealand August 18, 1882, Mr. Ling has resided in the district for 40 years where he was engaged in mixed farming. For 10 years prior to coming to Chilliwack he was a storekeeper in Ashcroft. He was a member of Senior Citizen's Branch No. 24, and a member of the Fraser Valley Milk Producers' Association.

On his way to Canada he worked on the railroad through the orient. Mr. Ling is survived by his wife Josephine; two daughters Mrs. Joe (Viola) Mclsaac of Vedder Crossing, and Mrs. Frank (Isabelle) Cowger of Fort St.

John, British Columbia; three sons, Herb of Chilliwack, Walter and Ernest, both of Sardis; 13 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sons, Frank, RCAF, World War Two. and Stanley, RCAF in Training; and one grandson, Stephen, in 1959. Pallbearers were Edward Lum, Randy Ling, Joe Mclsaac, Monty Bowman, Herb Ling, Walt Ling, Ernest Ling and Robert Lum. FRED WERK Funeral service was held on Saturday in Henderson's Funeral Home for Fred Werk of 413 Sidney Street.

Chilliwack, who died March 25 in Chilliwack General Hospital. Officiating ministers were Rev. Robert Jaster and Rev. Hugo Janz. Interment was in IOOF cemetery.

Mr. Werk was born in Ros-sish, Poland, June 9, 1879 and has lived in Chilliwack district for 28 years where he engaged in mixed farming. He was a member of Victoria Avenue Baptist Church. He js survived by four daughters, Mrs. W.

L. (Lydia) Wilkie, Chilliwack; Mrs. L. D. (Emily) Taylor of Fenwood, Saskatchewan; Mrs.

J. H. (Elsie) Nessel, Chilliwack, and Miss Clara Werk, at home; I four sons, William and Henry in Chilliwack; Edward, Lang-ley, British Columbia; and Ray in Sardis. 37 grandchildren; 58 great grandchildren; I great great grandson: and 2 sisters, Mrs. William (Mar-" tha) Shonert of Edmonton, Alberta and Mrs.

Ottilie Fo-nau of Germany. He was predeceased by his wife Alvina in 1963 and two daughters, Mary Schmuland in 1958 and Tillie Werk in 1923. Pallbearers were six grandsons, Mervin Werk, Earl Werk, Earl Nessel, Ralph Wilkie, Wayne Wilkie and Wil-lard Werk. DAVID BARTEL David D. Battel of 46290 Second Avenue, Chilliwack, died March 29 at his residence.

Funeral service was held today from Chilliwack First Mennonite Church with Rev. Peter linger officiating. Interment was in Carman cemetery. A retired farmer, Mr. Bar-tel was born February 17, 1911 in Alexandrov, Russia, and had lived in the district for 33 years.

He is survived by his wife Olga, three Mrs. Verne (Viola) Horner, Vancouver; Mrs. Al (Linda) White, Burnaby; Mrs. David (Joyce) Blackmore, Chilliwack; four grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Frank (Agnes) Frie-sen, Langley; Mrs.

Herman (Elizabeth) Sagert, Chilliwack; Mrs. Don (Marie) Hull, Vancouver; two brothers, Henry and Albert, both of Vancouver; and his mother, Mrs. Marie Bartel, Clear-brook. Pallbearers were Vic Martens, Bob Martens, Jerry Meyer, Larry Sagert, John Koehn and pave Giesbrecht. MRS.

RUTH ANDERSON Mrs. Ruth Williena Anderson, 9850 Carleton Street North, died at her home on Monday and funeral service will be held tomorrow from the chapel of Henderson's Funeral Home. Rev. J. Dunn will officiate with interment in IOOF cemetery.

Mrs. Anderson was born in Vancouver, September 1, 1911, and has lived in the district for 34 years. She is survived by her husband Nelson, one daughter, Mrs. Reg. (Muriel) Higgins, Prince George; two sons, Le-roy Watson of Victoria and James Watson, Cultus Lake; 12 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs.

Ted (Bernice) Jo-hansen, Campbell River; Mrs. Herb. (Isabelle) Scott, Vancouver; Mrs. Ed. (Florine) Dauncey, Vancouver; two brothers.
